Matt Tully
In class, we had to read news columns by Matt Tully. He has covered some issues that are important which I liked. The columns by him that I've read are all proximate, timely, and emotional. A lot of them have to do with school/ education so he seems to take a special liking to the issue. His columns are also very imformative.

swimming.. again
I got moved up to Varsity for swimming last night. I was rediculously happy. It made my night, probably my year <3
toy story 3:)
We just finished watching Toy Story 3 for journalism class becuase we have to write a review about it. I love that movie, I think it's really cute. I loved the first two when I was younger, I'm not even going to lie, I still do. I am a fan of Pixar movies. Ironically, I watched Toy Story 3 for the first time this past Sunday, it made me cry. Sometimes they make too many movies and cause the original story to be ruined but I do not believe that is the case with this movie. If they make a 4th I doubt they would be able to keep the funness and nostalgicness in the story, however.

swimming
My schedule for swimming is pretty crazy, but I love it so much. I have to get up at 4 every morning to be at practice by 5 a.m, it's hard but completely worth it. Varsity practices doubles every day, so my schedule isn't as bad as that. I've been practicing with varsity with a group of returning JV girls in the mornings. I' the only freshman in that group, so I feel rewarded when I practice with them. It is still early in the season so I'm excited for when meets start. This morning, we found out our "big sisters" and "little sisters." I got Megan Stepanian as my big sister, which I was REALLY happy about! Unfortunately, there was an issue involving misscommunication between JV and varsity, but hopefully I will still have Megan as my big sis. All in all, I'm just happy I have great coaches and a fun team. I love swimming <3

my weekend
Wednesday night I didn't do much. I had to go to my sister' swim practice at LC, the fire alarm went off so everyone had to exit the building and a bunch of firetrucks and cop cars came, we learned later that nothing really happened. After that we went to dinner then went home, I was exhausted from my practice in the morning so i ended up falling asleep at like 9, fun way to spend the first night of fall break. Thursday, I had swimming in the morning then i went to my friend Ashley's house with Taylor and Sam. We went to bdubs and the movies then slept at Ashley's. Friday, I had practice again, went home, then went to the mall. After i got home, no one was at my house so i didn't have a ride to my friend Maddy's house... so i walked, it was cold! Our friends Ryan and Mike came over and we just chilled and watched tv. Saturday i went home, died my hair, then got ready for my friend Taylor's bonfire. It was fun, I met some cool people. My dad picked me and Maddy up and we slept at my house. Sunday, i went trick or treating for a bit with my friends Ana amd Courney, we were 80's girls haha. We ended up walking to the walgreens by my house where someguys we know picked us up. We went back to my house and we all hung out.. It was a fun break :)

my sister
My youngest sister, Lilah, is 7 and she's a maniac. She can be the most annoying little kid in the world, but of course, I love her. She says the strangest things I've ever heard. Usually what she says make me laugh hysterically. Sunday, she said one of these funny things and it just made everyone laugh. She said, "Ellie, if you had a pony, but it was actually a unicorn, what color would you want it be?" She was so serious about this question that she didn't really understand our laughter. She started giggling anyway. Another funny thing she did this weekend... I had a friend over and she saw the movie Aquamarine at our house and said "we have to watch that later, it's such a cute movie!" Later that night when me and some friends were leaving the house to go for an evening walk we noticed that she was watching a movie on our laptop. We looked to see what movie it was and it was Aquamarine, but she was not watching it like you may assume she would have been. She was watching it in French! My friend said "i love that movie!" and Lilah said "I'm watching it in French!"
she makes me laugh <3

Dave Stud, the MTV guy
Mrs. Lolkema had our class skype with a guy who works for a company that is involved with MTV today. He works in New York which I thought was cool because I love the city (even though I've only been to Chicago). Hopefully my journalism career turns out like his did. Our class asked Dave a bunch of questions. He said he went to Ball State for college and he said he really enjoys his job. He said he can't really call it work because of how fun it is. Dave gave really good advice and told us to get involved in facebook and twitter and things of that nature. I'm on facebook, skype, and myspace but I have yet to make a twitter and other social medias. I think I'll try this later tonight..
